Road Channels

Rain started cutting our roads. First time when it happened, I called JCB and levelled the road. It was cut again, I took the help of labours and filled up the gaps, third time I used stones and patted with stone to make it solid…………….with every rain, road continued to cut and I continued to repair (without thinking), I just wanted a safe road.

Well, nature and science does not listen to wants and needs, they work scientifically and naturally, for me to live in harmony with nature, I have to understand nature and campus create beautiful learning opportunities for me.

While I was struggling to understand road and its structure, Seenappa showed me the channels made on the road with rainwater ……………………this unfolded a huge mystery and opened up my mind. I was thinking only one way, did not look at the road and its channels.

One child who is working on road, was also going through the same struggle – every time he fills up gaps, the rain takes the mud away and from the same place. we both walked through the road, inspected the road and its nature and laughed at ourselves. We traced all the water channels and decided to re-direct those channels.

work in progress……………….looking forward to more rain to understand water channels.

Next day

Rain came, we saw the water channels and we are making water channels by the side of the road. Three more children joined……………channels are made, some more structures in place to stop and re-direct the water, small stone bridges are made to ensure cars and two wheelers can be parked…………the team is excited.
