Often we say ‘do not make noise’. At campus you will often see me closing my ears with the noises and screams with excitement happens around. I started sharing ‘beyond 80 decibels noise level, it is punishable crime’. Kids would ask me “what is decibel? How do you know?”
One child decided to dig deep into my statements. She researched and came up with a list of acceptable decibels in various situations – it is different in public places, homes, night and day. Well, one of them also downloaded decibel meter App (on a smart phone) to check decibels in different situation at the campus.
We continue to make hangama at campus, but we know what is our decibel :).
